Stacking height control

Whether wooden boards, panes of glass, sheets of paper or coloured plastic panels, ultrasonic sensors are ideal for measuring the height of stacks with millimetre precision.

Further application: Stack centering

In addition to stack height measurement, the zws ultrasonic sensors can also be used for stack centering in the infeed of printing presses. The sensor precisely and non-contact detects the lateral position of the paper stack—regardless of surface texture or color—ensuring optimal alignment for smooth and error-free operation.

The right sensor family for your application

Depending on the measuring range and housing design, there are three sensor families to choose from:

  • mic+ with M30 threaded sleeve: measuring range from 30 mm to 8 m for large stacks,
  • pico+ with M18 metal sleeve: measuring range from 20 mm to 1.3 m for small stacks,
  • zws in a miniature cubic housing: measuring range from 20 mm to 1 m for small stacks.
